Answer:

Sometimes, you will be told this at the time of booking, but most airlines now charge between £12 and £15 per person (short-haul, long-haul prices can be higher) for meals and they require that you pre-book the meals at least 2-weeks before your departure date. Within 2-weeks of travel meals can not be added to your booking.
