Dalaman - Located in South-West Turkey
Dalaman is the perfect resort for families and couples who want to get away for a relaxing or romantic break together. Olu Deniz is a well known beach in Turkey that is located south-east of Dalaman. It is very popular and is covered with fine pale sands leading down to the beautiful turquoise coloured waters. The beach is backed by pine trees giving it a more relaxing and picturesque setting. You will find plenty of hotels and apartments in Dalaman. Most hotels are between 3-5-stars, however there are some more budget options available. The apartments are self catering and you will find mainly half-board and all-inclusive in the hotels. There are also some bed and breakfasts.
Dalaman – plenty for you to see and do
There is plenty of exploring for you to do when you get to Dalaman. The beaches in Dalaman are very popular and relaxing with some water sports on offer to occupy you. You may find scuba diving, snorkelling and windsurfing available here. There are many historical sites in Dalaman such as the ancient Lycian tombs that are set into cliffs. If you enjoy being near the water then why not try the boat trips. There are chances for you to visit other islands, as well as get into the sea for a swim when the boat has stopped.
Dalaman – no shortage of places to eat
Dalaman is home to some brilliant traditional and local Turkish cuisines. If this is not to you liking then try the more international dishes that you are probably more familiar with. These include Italian, Chinese, Mexican and British. You may also find some fast food outlets. There are some of the liveliest bars and discos around in Dalaman. You will nightclubs and bars with plenty of entertainments and live music to keep you occupied. You can even then get a taxi to Marmaris where you can party until the sun comes up. There are plenty of shops for you to enjoy with clothing, jewellery, crafts, leather goods and souvenirs on offer. There is also plenty of public transport in the area with buses taking you to and from various resorts for cheap prices. Taxis can be found around the resort and offer cheap rates. You can also take boat trips to other islands and resort in Turkey should you wish.
Dalaman – brilliantly hot weather
The summer in Dalaman is very hot with temperatures in August hitting 35°C. You will also see over 13 hours a day of pure sunshine. January and February tend to be the coldest months, however temperatures can still reach above 15°C. There are over 320 days of pure sunshine a year in Dalaman making it one of the most popular destinations to visit. The water tends to be very warm as well making the beach an even more popular place to go during the day. It also makes water sports a lot more enjoyable. From June until September, you are highly unlikely to see any rain in the resort. From December to February you will have around 5 hours of sunshine a day, however it can still be quite warm. There may be the odd shower but it does not often rain in Dalaman.
